State regulations do not exist for public or private construction work, except for asbestos handling.

License Requirements

Asbestos Contractors:

• Applicants must submit evidence of workers compensation insurance, disability insurance and the name of the "designated supervisor" holding a current Asbestos Supervisor Certificate.
• There were 1,000 licensees as of October 1994.

Other:

• The New York comptroller may require a payment bond before the approval of a public works contract.

Reciprocal Agreements

New York does not have reciprocity agreements with any other states.
